The Infinity heat pump delivers up to 69 percent higher heating efficiency in the three-ton size. This new heat pump is capable of providing warmer leaving air when outdoor temperatures fall into the teens. Under similar conditions, standard heat pumps may deliver cooler leaving air as outdoor temperatures decline. And, when temperatures fall below the teens, a Carrier Hybrid Heat dual fuel system will automatically switch from electric to gas heating for maximum comfort and heating economy.
During hot and humid weather, standard heat pumps can effectively cool and dehumidify the home. Under moderate conditions, which occur most of the time, standard systems run at full capacity for shorter periods of time and have less opportunity to dehumidify the air, which can result in an uncomfortable indoor environment.
